Hellas Verona Palermo Match Preview

Verona come into the clash at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi (1945 BST) with Palermo having secured a point from their goalless draw with Atalanta on Matchday 1, while Palermo drew 1-1 with Sampdoria in their opener. Hellas manager Andrea Mandorlini was happy with that result and will be eager to build on a positive performance from his players here. The hosts would do well to re-discover last season’s impressive home form when they face newly promoted Palermo. The Veronese won their first six home fixtures last term and were beaten just six times at the Bentegodi all campaign. They haven't faced Palermo since the sides met in a Coppa Italia clash back in August 2013 when Hellas ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a Luca Toni strike. Toni and fellow Palermo old boy Bosko Jankovic are both expected to line-up for Verona against their former club while deadline day signing, Javier Saviola, is also available. Mandorlini will be without the services of wing-back Jacopo Sala for their second league outing though. Palermo, who won Serie B last season to earn promotion, may be without Ezequiel Munoz and Francesco Della Rocca, who are both injury concerns.
